ok, i have a series 2 bluey, 1984, (had) a 5 speed. the original L-gearbox speedo drive fitted in the hole fine....but the little cog didnt mesh with anything so it was useless....the SR cog was a few mm bigger, so i swapped the SR cog onto the L speedo drive....you have to break the cog off the L speedo, then grind one side flat, so the shaft is a D shape....then just press it on, and bolt it back into the SR gearbox does that answer your question???
