Have to chime in and say that although a Gemini is a pretty good small car (OK some listers might not agree on that) the Zed is much better looking has tons of potential and probably better resale if you ever get tired of it. Plus there is a huge supply of aftermarket parts and even in original form it is still a very fun car to blast around in with a strong driveline and good handling - as it was designed from the offset as a sports car rather than an economy sedan. When I had a Z the hardest part was parallel parking compared to a 1600 :) all nose not much rear...but I say go for it!

i'm currently in the throws of putting an L28 in it. All up I figure

- L28: ~$500
- rebuild with forgies: $1500(?)
- Custom tuned length exhaust manifold to T3/T4: $800 (?)
- T3/T4 combo good for 400hp $1500 (?)
- 3" exhaust ~$500
- R200 LSD ~$800
- gearbox?
- Aftermarket EFI ~$1200
So all that comes out to around around $7K (in reality probably closer to
$8K). When it was all going you could have one fast ass car for a little
bit more than $12K.

everything worked.Shame someone came up with the money before me.I ended
up finding another 1600 shell so abandend the zed idea.
