Be careful when talking about the length of shocks.  Are you talking about fullt compressed? or half way or fully extended?   IF they are shorter when fully compressed that shouldnt be a problem as the bump stops will have hit by the time it gets close to this.    If they are longer than the stock ones when fully extended hen again this shouldnt be a problem, but if they are shorter then you will need to decide if there is enough room left in them for when you go over a speed bump and the car bounces up, You dont want the shocks extending out! A solution to this problem is to fit shorter shocks. Recently i purchased 4 koni shocks (2 shocks 2 struts) second hand from a VN commodore ute.  (for a great price).. The rear shocks are approx 3 inches shorter than the normal VH commodore shockers that i had in my VH commodore (as i later found).
