if the spark is igniting the  air/fuel mix at wrong time this puts extra
stress on engine  there fore  warming up engine morte.
the only real way to  check if its blocked is to take radiator aout and get
the tank taken off...
take  thermostat out , physically  look at it, then  put thermostat in a
small  amount of water in pot (just cover  thermostat) then heat water up ,
then check to see if it opens fully...
