I'm in a 79 Dodge with a chrysler 318 and massive exhaust that just shakes your guts, and next to this full-sik riceboy. What am I gunna do? :) So I gun the throttle and this riceboy looks over, guns the throttle on his wrx. It was absolutely classic movie material. Now I know the speed potential of my truck, it's something like 2km/h in 1st gear, 10 in 2nd gear, 30 in 3rd gear, and about 80 in 4th gear.. But it sounds like an absolute beast. The funny thing is, this guy really thought he was on for a race. Quite seriously.. I was pissing myself laughing. Just as the lights are about to change, I do the rev & hold drag-racing method, 2nd gear.. :) and as the lights change I totally redline it in 2nd gear, grab 3rd and do the same. By the time I maxed out 3rd gear I was at the other side of the intersection doing 30km/h and ~6000rpmish.. The WRX is in full flight well over 100km/h and whooshn and choofn like there's no tomorrow. I had to hold my guts to stop myself peeing my pants laughing as the dude in the WRX backs off further up, he looks over at me with his jaw on the steering wheel. I'm sure he's telling the story to his mates right now, "I blew away this tow truck man, it was full-sik bro.." -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of E Smith Sent: Tuesday, 1 April 2003 10:24 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Road Rage You meaney Geordie :-) Buggered if I would argue with you if you drive your truck like your bluey!!!!!!!!!!!! Then it doesn't matter who thumps into you, you get out, and start bending panels, glass and plastic with the clublock, Even if your in the wrong. Another deterrant I use is that I drive a towtruck, shave every 4th day and carry several different kinds of metal bars and chains in the truck. Funny how the road rules change to the tune of "trucks ALWAYS get right of way..." Except for Camry drivers with a death wish! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Paul Stanley Sent: Sunday, 30 March 2003 7:58 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Road Rage Speaking of war I had a nasty case of road rage on me today. I was driving along fairly slowly from a set of traffic lights then I noticed my right turn coming up but I was in the left lane, and I noticed there was hoards of traffic in that lane behind me so I had to pass the car that was right beside me. So I dropped it back to do a smooth illegal undertake and just as I looked over my shoulder to change lanes I noticed the guy in the red Commodore Ute seems to have planted it and my quarter panel is on a collision course with his front end... So I swerved back for long enough to clear him and made it into my lane with surprisingly no amount of heavy braking, so I would estimate I was only going about 70. I noticed him in my rear view hesitate over in the "straight ahead" lane, then furiously swerve over behind me and pull up sharply. 5 seconds later there's an almighty thump on my door and this heavily built late 40s guy rips the door open and I heard him say something like "that stunt you pulled back will get you in jail! You missed me by this much!" So I start apologising because I know it's my fault and I didnt see him speed up... but he wouldnt let me finish talking and starts yelling again then he slams the door shut and nearly busts the window... at this point my visage had changed from apologetic to mad as hell and I opened it straight back up and indicated my disapproval of his actions in a loud way which made him quickly get back in his car. I then watched him as he drove past on my right after we had turned, and he was staring straight ahead... he probably realised how stupid it was to thump on a complete stranger's car while he is in it. Moral of the story is I have to drive better, and people should listen when someone wants to sincerely apologise... dont just yell and slam things around. ----- Original Message ----- From: "E Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 6:52 PM Subject: RE: subscribe or unsubscribe > I seem to have heard that phrase "Don't mention the war" before in a comedy > program could have been Monty Python? > It is a Datsun list isn't it? > > Cheers, > Feral Errol > Get Serious tm<http://www.datrats.com.au/> > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of nat P. > Sent: Tuesday, April 01, 2003 10:03 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: Re: subscribe or unsubscribe > > > HERE HERE!! > > > --- James Fitness <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I don't know about other lists... but lets keep the > > topic of war off this > > mailing list please > > > > > > > > > > > > "nat P." wrote: > > > > > Against the war? > > > Why? are the Bulebird list getting very political? > > > Cheers nAT > > > > > > --- Maldat <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Today > > after a > > > long thinking weekend I have removed > > > > myself from the bluebirds list till after the > > war.. > > > > > > > > Reason for not unsubing from this one is I > > belive a > > > > lot more people in ozzie are against it ,,Which > > > > makes you better people.. > > > > > > > > If I'm wrong please tell me! > > > > > > > > > > > > Malcolm > > > > > > > > > --membersozdat------------------------------------------------------- OZDAT Mailing List Please Note:- Send (un)subscribe requests to [EMAIL PROTECTED] Send submissions to [EMAIL PROTECTED] No unauthorised redistribution of this email http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/index.htm http://www.ozdat.com/ozdatonline/listindex.html http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------
