Hamish, The answer to the 1st question is yes, nearly all of the time, the various models that run the SR20DET engine are an exception though. The answer to the 2nd question is NO, the Niles temp gauge used in 1600/180B/1000/1200 etc uses a totally different impedance to the VDO dash and the correct sender must be used.
