hi, i  am pretty sure that the spacer  goes on ,  then connect up the flexable and the metal brake line, and the clip goes on the metal brake line side.
 when the flex line is pushed  up against the bracket , you should see a groove on the other side    and the  clip slides in this groove, which in turns pulls the  fitting hard up against the  bracket.
i`ll see if i can get a pic tonite for ya.  will let ya know if i can or cant.

i have clips that hold the flexible hoses to the strut & to the body etc,
but do they need to be covered with that little spacer that i uploaded?
