G'day

I've had a similar problem in my car it eventually died. I thought it was the regulator, but after buying a new one it still happened. I ended up pulling apart the alternator & putting new brushes in. I think the problem was that because I was driving in dusty, rough conditions, the brushes got stuck up with no contact on the alternator. After I overhauled & cleaned the alternator & put new brushes it worked smick.

HI Fellow datters
My 81 bluey's charge light came on the other day after I started her. I had driven her for a week, and got in her a 5:45 am and the charge light came on and stayed on for about 2 mins maybe more. It did eventually go out and when it did I am sure I herd a click or something like it from under the bonnet. From memory this means the alternator is charging correctly is it? and can be a regulator or something? do you think it is anything to worry about? has come on before but only very briefly.
Cheers
Ryan
