For rally use I would think that the stock 13/16 master would be adequate with the single piston fronts even with disc rear fitted. If you upgrade the front calipers to larger piston area then you may have to look at an upgrade in master cylinder. Do some maths and compare the ratios of piston areas between front and rear pistons stock and what you are looking to fit. If you are going up by more than 15% in area either end, fit a larger cylinder.

I currently have a drum rear end, soon to make way for a disk conversion. Disks are from a pintara with bluebird GILROCK single piston callipers. Will I need to a) get a bigger M/C b) need to get a bias valve fitted? Any help guys is greatly appreciated. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Brad Sent: Friday, 19 March 2004 9:32 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Master Cylinder You may have a problem bleeding the system if you tilt the m/c. There is a small diameter booster in the 710 which may fit, if not you may have to look at fitting a remote booster. If you want to do it properly, fit twin m/c with an adjustable bias bar and don't run a booster. Dunno what your local transport dept will think of it though. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of mark krawczuk Sent: Friday, 19 March 2004 11:12 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Master Cylinder hi, on a 1600 with 4 wheel discs, would it be best to use a master cylinder with a porportioning valve in it , or just use the standard twin resevoir setup? i`ve been looking at using the large 180b booster, and a vn ? commodore m/c in my 1600 with the sr. its pretty well touch-n-go with fitting , the only other way to have more clearance is to split the booster, fit two studs so that the m/c is mounted sideways, (then put it back together ) or twisted a bit. then i would have to put some fittings in the fluid holes and run a remote fluid container..... mark k ----- Original Message ----- From: "Errol Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, March 19, 2004 10:03 PM Subject: RE: Master Cylinder If you look at the cylinder area ratios I would be surprised if you needed a 1" with the skyline calipers as they have small pistons? I'll email details of exactly what I'm using for brakes once it's finished, but I am going to need at least a 1" master cylinder. Is there a 1" that will bolt straight on? The biggest I know of is 7/8. Has anyone gone bigger than 7/8 on your 510/610, and if so what did you use? thanks!
