Andrew,
I have NF Idea when it comes EFI, all motors I've worked on have been
primitive carby types with no electronics. I am self-taught. I don't even
know what an AFM looks like but I've got a flap valve at the inlet to the
manifold which I think is a throttle body, opened by mechanical linkages
similar to the L16. On the opposite side of the intake to the linkages there
is a black plastic box that seems to share the throttle shaft , I guess this
is a throttle position indicator (TPI)? The rest of the manifold is just a
mass of tubes and sensors and I don't know what is what. I'm told the system
came off a Jap-import 200SX. Unfortunately the inlet runners are only 31mm
I.D. Maybe too much work involved to port out, although someone on the list
recently cut right thru all runners so he could open them up with porting
work and then re-welded them together again. Wouldn't it be easier to get a
280ZX EFI manifold, cut number 5 and 6 runners off and weld the end shut?
Surely the 280ZX runners should be 38mm or perhaps 44mm I.D.?
Anyway thanks for the Dime Quarterly tip, I am a subscriber and seem to
recall now that article popping up in one of the magazines. Sounds
complicated but if I get a bit of time, I will give it a go.

Cheers,
Rob P
