Nice article...I first advocated Rails at my workplace, now I've done the same with Merb, at least for our web services.
I'll be forwarding your article to our team along with the numbers showing the substantial performance boost (using your ab string) and smaller memory footprint gained by simply converting an existing web service from Rails to Merb (w/ DataMapper). Looks like we'll be doing most web services with Merb (GoComics.com, for one).
