I have decided to start the transition to merb now. The plan is to
first clarify what zena needs from rails actually, then move all this
code into modules (yes, that's another layer) and then rewrite the
modules for merb. We should end up with one application that runs in
both environments. Once rails 3.0 is out and stable, the modules might
eventually be dropped if the performance impact of this extra layer is
important. Since these modules will quite clearly identify the
differences between rails/merb and then rails 3.0, some of you might
be interested to follow what we will be doing.
