The customer wants to build their website with Joomla which is built in PHP. But PHP doesn't enforce Convection over Configuration or MVC. Are these infrastructures only development niceties or would they impact the easy of adding in caching. I think adding in the caching is easier with these infrastructures.
Also Joomla has GPL licencing which would require that there website would also need to be open source. This may not please them. I have done websites with RoR CMS systems before and that is not a bad approach but why not in Merb? Google could not find any Merb-based CMS systems as of yet. Does anyone know of one?
