The HTML that I see is always as an attachment. Not difficult to ignore,
but a waste of bandwidth.

I'd rather see the bandwidth used for useful things - like "Which oil is
the best for treating a moose bite?"

Or a
reply-of-a-reply-of-a-reply-of-a-reply-of-a-reply-of-a-reply-of-a-reply 
- with not even the footer removed!
