kids agree to what they are taught, but they still can't be trusted around guns. i told abby that i locked the guns up not because i didn't trust her, but that i was worried about other people who might come over. she seems to have bought the story

yea, no joke, thats about like keeping guns with gun locks on them, hell with that. Also, an unloaded guns does no good either. If you have kids in the house, you need to start early by training them to NOT touch guns and to respect them etc. I tought our kids this, I used to every once in a while leave a gun laying around somewhere that they would see it(unloaded of course) as a test. They always see it and right away come get an adult. Education is the key to gun safety.

Sounds normal to me. Your next 'gun' should be a gun safe. I really enjoy knowing my guns are safe when I go out of town. I'm not stupid enough to leave all my guns in the safe, tho. The bad guys usually don't respond well to "OK, hold on a minute, let me open my safe..."

Subject: Re: [MBZ] mbz.org what the story???

it kinda is sad what has happened to me

and my country estate is small (1650 square feet) but it is heavily wooded and i really don't have neighbors on 3 sides (closest neighbors are across the street. neighbors on sides and back can be seen in winter, but invisible right now), so it isn't that bad. i like it even though i'm informed that my house is a shack compared to Kleb's.

i very much do want a little house in the mountains. i don't have the money though. spent it all on junk :(

11 guns so far. pretty normal, huh?

Ah, a man of impeccable taste, deep wisdom, and obviously widely read in the
relevant literature.

Hurst used to be that way. Now he just sends one-word missives, sells
Chinese knockoff parts and polishes his handguns at his vast country estate.

I despair for the future of western democracy. It may end up worse than the
immediate present, which is saying little indeed.
