Thanks, Mike-I knew there were SOME differences between the front and rear, and was hoping this was one! I have had it started and running already, and it doesn't seem TOO affected, so I will see if I can get it running as is!

Joe, I had a 1970 280s with the dual zeniths and only one of the carbs had the choke adjustment screw your mention. I think that's because the screw sets the fast idle speed by riding the cam. Choke operation is independent of the screw.
