Kaleb, My W123 with R-134a conversion would also generate 38F (approx) duct temps with 85-90F ambients, especially with the car rolling at 35mph or more. At idle or not moving the temps are higher. And at high ambients (100F+ with low humidity) it's not very good even at freeway speeds.
But, yeah, 38F is possible.
