Yes. Our 240D, amongst the other plague of problems it's having right now, is doing this. If I remove the vacuum shutoff valve and clean it, the next few times, the engine shuts off just fine. After that, it's hit or miss - mayhaps it will, mayhaps it won't.
Fortunately, I have a spare vacuum shutoff valve handy, and will probably have Donna take the wagon tomorrow so I can replace it.
