Yeah, every time the price of fuel goes up that email does the rounds.
However large car manufacturers are feeling the pinch, the local GM
operation is giving away AU$2000 worth of fuel with every new V6 sold and
AU$4000 for every V8. Not enough though, the GM (we call them Holden)
factory is laying off 1400 workers(20-30%). That and the ripple on
effect(component manufacturers and so on) is going to be pretty bad for the
local economy. And the GM 3.8L V6 is not as thirsty as the Ford 4L straight
six, so Ford might have to temporarily downsize as well.
I could get political about who is to blame for the price of juice but this
is a vehicular based list so I will shut the ......up.
