Thanks for that information, Dave and Marshall. 
I replaced the steering damper and that made a tremendous improvement.
The old steering damper can produce about the same amount of resistance as 
the new one. But the old damper has about 1/2" of very loose play before 
that resistance starts. And I always thought that damper didn't do 
much......
 Still seems like I probably have at least one, and probably more, out of 
round tires. I'll deal with those tires, next.
