Wife told me coupla hours ago that blower fuse in SDL blew today, i. e.,
blower suddenly quit. Few minutes ago I went out to check it, install new
fusible link, etc. First glance found one end of the holder melted, fuse
mounting screw and end of wire on one side "cooked." Finally got
melted/cooked top off the box and found about 1/3 of bottom of the box and
most of one end of the box melted away, leaving fuse mounting screw and end
of wire on that side just hanging there in space. I thought, "Well, I'll
clean it up and mount a new fuse to the still secure screw on one side and
to the "floating" screw on the other side and try to see what else there
is." 'Went to driver's door and retrieved an envelope containing a "new"
fusible link from the black plastic MB records pouch. 'Opened the envelope,
and guess what??!! The "new", never-used fusible link has melted!! 'Really
confusing at first to open the envelope expecting to see the 30 amp fusible
link I put in it 2 or 3 years ago and see instead a thin squiggly line of
something a little over an inch long with strange little discs at each end.
'Took a moment to realize the "new" fuse had melted there inside the car.
Any more spare ones I get henceforth will be kept in the house!

Rusty, do you have a blower fusible link and HOLDER for a 91 350SDL? 'Think
I got this blown fuse and the spare one from ya 2 or 3 years ago. How 'bout
a return on the un-used one? Grin-Grin.
