Sounds like what my 240D is doing, theres a clip that holds the cable housing to the motor bracket. On mine its missing. The motor will retract the sunroof fine but on closing it spools the cable out into the trunk. The clip on mine dropped into the space under the cable housing where I can't get at it (behind the seatback, I don't know if removing the seatback would let me at it). A replacement clip should fix it...

Motor runs but cable is broke I guess. It will move back fine, but when moving forward, you can hear the cable loose in there. If you move it forward a little bit at a time with the switch and manually move the roof I can get it to within about an inch of closed. Although I have not messed with it much I cant get it any further as of yet. Anybody got any ideas how to get it closed? I want to get this done ASAP before it rains or something. -- Kaleb C.
