That knocked the cobwebs out of my brain.

I did the 0% finance thing once.  On a TV.  Seemed like a truly good  
deal, low price, no interest, time to pay it off.  What the mouse  
print lays out though is a bit different than the banner over the  
door says.

IF YOU PAY ON TIME, you will not be charged interest.  Miss a payment  
and you will be smacked with 19% interest on the whole purchase,  
retroactive to the purchase date and all payments made will be  
recalculated for interest owed.  You need to make the payments each  
and every month until the term is done.

I read the fine print on the stupid contract and sent the folks full  
payment a week after I got the TV.
