The 914-4's engine progressed to 1.8 and then 2.0 in 1973. Not to mention the 914-6 with the 2 liter 911 engine. A close friend who just took delivery of an '06 997S has owned a flawless 1973 914 2.0 since new, 32 years and 55000 miles. I can't find even one rock chip on it. It's worth 10 grand, apparently. BTW, Vo-Po is the scornful name the Germans used for the 914 since it was marketed there as a Volkswagen-Porsche. Vo-Po was also the hated term for the East German police. RLE
