My 300D 2.5t is in the shop for similar symptoms-it gets hot when AC is on during hot day and not moving, etc. Needs coolant servicing and Indy will check fan clutch.

With one exception (the SDL), all of the MBs I've bought that have had the green stuff have needed new radiators within two years. I've replaced thermostats, flushed with citric acid, replaced fan clutches, had the radiator cleaned and "rebuilt", but a new radiator was the only thing that brought the temps in line.
