I found a 1990 Volvo 240DL (not a diesel). It has 135,000 miles. It is in
phenomenal condition. The little old lady (literally) was the original owner
and had ALL of her service records from day one. She changed the timing belt
every 60,000 miles (twice) and had it serviced at the Volvo dealer. The paint
looks great! The only thing wrong with it is one of the brake lights doesn't
work. I think they have a problem with the socket going bad, but I will try to
clean up the contacts and hope that solves it. The a/c was very good. I am
really impressed. Thanks for all the advice. All of the people that responded
convinced me to buy the old car.

My neighbors are buying my old buick for $1200 and I got the Volvo for $1400 -
so I am definitely upgrading for a very cheap price.

The acceleration was certainly not fast, but it wasn't that slow either -
slower than the Buick, but faster than my 126 300SEL.
