One thing you'd want to watch is the "Duty Cycle" , You big engine Olds spent a very small amount of it ife with W.O.T.. MAny smaller engined cars spent lots of time at W.O.O. or very close.
Turn on memory: During WW2, a lot of fighters had water/alcohol injection, If the spend more that XX minutes under "Military Power" the engine was O'hauled, usually had severe piston etching.
