When I go to car shows, I like to see examples of vehicles that are actually driven around and not just trailered in for the event. If the vehicle is more perfect than when it left the factory I have no interest in it.
However, I should probably wash my poor old red car. I took it to the lake this past weekend and the bugs were quite bad. Could hardly see out the windshield from Falcon Lake to Kenora. Went in for fuel, even though I didn't need it, just so I could wash the windshield. Am amazed at the way this old car runs. When I got it, I felt like I was abusing it at 60 mph. This weekend, I had a hard time keeping it below 75 mph. It wants to go faster. I guess there is a lot to be said for the old "Italian tuneup". It must have been carboned up from mostly short city trips when I got it. Randy, I appreciate your concern. I honestly was quite happy to get a bronze, because that was realistically the best I could have hoped for. The gold and silver medalist in my concours category (he brought TWO old coupes) was an architect, a profession whose first letter is the same as the word "anal". ;) How's THAT for sour grapes!
