The undeniable issue with using corn is that it raises the cost of everything else. So instead of just giving them tax breaks and farm subsidies, we also have to pay more across the board for everything from milk to cereal to batteries to soap. Sugar cane and soy are no different. It doesn't matter how effective ethanol production is these days when we are using food stock as we are.
