The MBA dropped in price because they just refreshed it. You're looking at the original version, which is no longer in production.
As for price drops, don't count on it. Historically, Apple has never done it. They expect a crappy first quarter (you should have read their forward-looking statements in their recent quarterly financials) so they'll be bleeding off inventory and building little in the immediate future, I'm sure. In fact, the trades were just buzzing last week over purported cutbacks in order to some of their Asia assemblers.
