Thats pretty common on non-workstation class machines or even workstations more
than 3 or 4 years old.
Your 32bit OS would be maxed out at 3GB regardless and the 3rd GB is much less
efficient than the first 2 so I doubt you'd notice a big difference anyway.

I was looking on the emachine website and it does say this model is max
2 gig. Well, I guess Im maxed already then.
