I did 'em, TWICE.
The second time I RTV'd everything together on the theory that water was 
getting in somewhere. I RTV'd the coil (which made it overheat, a replacement 
coil was no better...

I never did figure that one out. Kind of wish I'd kept the car when I got rid 
of her, just to find out the answer.

I wonder how many people remember a $200 turd of a car limping on its last legs 
and attribute that car's flaws to all cars of that make/model.
I take it your ex didn't want to pay for cap, rotor, and plug wires?
