When we lived near Soo, MI (Kincheloe AFB) - '71-'75, sometime in late March
or so each year, I'd fly the family in a Cessna puddle-jumper (172, 182,
177RG) down to Holland, Petosky and other little towns in the Lower
Peninsula for a weekend of early Spring "down South," then on Sunday night
fly back up to the UP, where all the trees were still winter-dormant.
'Several very enjoyable weekends and a bit shocking to fly back into Winter
in the UP.
