&8's have their own equalization scheme (don't remember what it is), and even that changed from the early recordings to the later ones, IIRC. I think I will get the 78 model pre-amp, and a cartridge that will take a 78 needle, and "do it right". Thanks for the input on the pre-amp. Glad to hear that someone is happy with their products!
