If I end up having to pull that tranny back out of the 190D, my 2 plans are either to A: convert it to a 5 speed manny. Or B: use the .403 tranny that is currently attached to the back of a 2.5 turbo engine that is going to be dropped in my 91 300D at some point and when I get ready to drop the 2.5 in the 124, use a 300E tranny instead. The 300E tranny is heavier duty, correct? It should bolt right up to the 2.5 I would think. The valve body may be a little different but it should be OK, after all, I was using a tranny out of a 2.6 in the 190D and it shifted just fine at the correct points till now it doesnt shift at the current moment. I know the 300E tranny case is a little bigger, so Im not sure it would fit in a 201, but it will a 124. Thoughts?
