I am in the area, Summerville is an hour or so away, if you are really
interested I could maybe take a look at that car. I have a reason or
two to head that way, just not compelling, but maybe if I combined trips.

A 190 is what I am replacing due to it being totaled. Have only found
one 190 2.5 turbo, down outside of Charlestown SC. about 4250 dollars,
and am not comfortable buy something I can not see or drive. Link to
car is below.
I really did like the 190, on average was getting about 35 mpg. Drove
it approximatly 550 miles per week to and from work. Never failed me
in over (4) years of driving.

It'd take the 2.5 Turbo over the '95 D300 but the '87 300DT is really
where its at....

I believe that the 95 E300D has the 606 engine - no turbocharger. I
remember
Hans'sasbeing quite snappy, though I've never ridden in, much less
driven a
190D2.5T. If it's really slow off the line, the flaps that vary the
tuning
of the intake runners might be gummed up - just need claening, or
what ever.
Overall, it sounds like a good car, and worth $4,400, maybe more.

E300 or E300D?
I don't think there's that much weight difference from a 201 Turbo.
The 201 turbo and 16v both weighed 3000-3050lb, and I think a lot
of the
124s are in the 3200-3400 range.
