Finally got my 85 190D where I can drive it, so have been driving that for the last couple of days. It seems like it has less power than the 84's I have had. I really have to rev the piss out of it to get it going sometimes. Anyway, I put a set of wheels at tires for a 124 on it, and the tires are actually a little bigger than the usual 124 tires. IIRC, the correct tires for the 201 are 185 65 15, and for a 201 its 195 65 15. But, the tires that were mounted to the 124 wheels I pulled and put on this car are 205 65 15. The first number is just how wide they are, correct? So it should have any affect on changing the gearing so to speak. Fuel filters are new, Im almost thinking the tank screen might be plugged up a bit, car was sitting for lord knows how long before I got ahold of it. Anyway, has anybody drove both years and could you tell a different in performance? Or do I have a problem to look for?
