I've done it a couple times with a little drill bit and it works pretty well
although its time consuming. Both the doctor and my wife were horrified at the
thought. I don't think my wife remembers the time I had to strap my vice grips
to the wall so I could yank a pencil sized stick out of my arm. If she'd been
here she'd have made me go to the hospital for that one too. As it was I got on
a train for NYC 3 hours later.
I had to use the vice grips because it hurt so bad I couldn't make myself pull
the stick with pliers. I hooked the vice grips to the wall, hooked the other
end to the stick and stepped backward fast. Blood poured out on that one, took
awhile to clean the wall.
The doc is super worried I'm going to get infected. Says I need a huge bandage
on it. I told him it'll be basically healed over in a week for me to go to
Vegas.
He's an okay doc though, big fat guy, laughs easy. Better than the
hyper-religious woman I had before...
