A new, fully charged battery should read 12.7-12.8 no load. At 12.3 it's either half charged or seeing a bigger draw than the clock and the radio memory should put on it. 13.5 charging is a bit low, but the older MBZ had their voltage regulators set low, I think 13.5-14.0 is normal. When estimating to a tenth of a volt, you're using the mirror on the meter to eliminate parallax error, right?
