It's amazing that I didn't catch that error in my message before I sent it.
Also amazing that I sent it to the list when I just wanted to send it to Tyler.

On the very early Saab turbos:
The dial markings stop at 14-15 psi boost, or two atmospheres in the manifold.
There are no numbers on the dial, just different color zones. I call a color change point a mark. Marks on the dial are atmosphere plus 0 psi, 7-ish, 11-ish, and 14-ish. To the left of the first (central) mark is vacuum. Or to put it another way, the center mark is one bar (no boost, no vacuum), the yellow band goes to the next mark at 1.5 bar, then another color to 1.75 bar, then 2.0 bar. I think that car might have been pushing 18-20psi, but I really don't know. I also don't want to know what the EGT was on a hard run.

Mitch.
