Here's a question for anyone that has HVAC background:

The "Momolith", that is, the house we now live in, has a cavernous entry that
is two stories, and three bedrooms upstairs. With the AC turned on, the
upstairs is still unbearable, even at night when the house has cooled down.
There is a ceiling fan in the entry space, and I keep it on the high setting
when the AC run, which seems to help somewhat.

I'm giving some serious consideration to having a zone system put in, but I'm
not totally convinced that will resolve the situation. The house is roughly
3500 SF and we have a single AC unit (5 ton) and air handler.

And yes, I've checked that the air handler is set on the high speed for AC and
all the vents are open.

Any other suggestions before I call in my HVAC guy?

TIA,

Dan
