That reminds me of the FAFSA... I can remember when I first filled mine out - I was working part time when I was a stay-at-home Dad making about $15k/year. When I filled out the FAFSA they said I had $4k disposable income that could be applied to college costs, so therefore, I was not eligible for any sort of financial aid.
Must be the same sort of math...
