In this case, it was really a matter of the treatment of each of the cars. The BMW came from Sicily and was not well kept mechanically but the exterior and interior were fantastic. The Alfa came from northern Italy (where they speak German as well as Italian) and it was well cared for. I think that Alfa at that point in time was also making decent quality cars (early '80s, I think the car was an '82). It had a 2 liter 4 cyl with double overhead cams and dual carbs; decent mileage and could cruise at 150 kph all day long. 5 speed tranny located at rear axle, handled like a dream. This particular model was very popular with the mafia, and when I drove the car with authority people tended to get out the way in a hurry, which the girl friend thought was hilarious.

Now there's an advertising slogan for you: "BMW - more troublesome than an Italian car". _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com _______________________________________ http://www.okiebenz.com For new and used parts go to www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
