since Apple didn't release OSX v10.6 (or <insert name of non-sequential
kitty here>) until Aug 28th, it's not likely Elder Sons GF even has that
OS unless she's since bought the upgrade.
people i know who've been using it since it was in Development
Release seem to like the latest OSX better than what preceded it, but
from what i know after having worked there i'd be inclined to wait a bit
and let the Applehead flock Beta-test it for a bit before jumping into
the sheep-pen.

I've been using a Vista machine for about a year, but I'm thinking of
jumping back to Apple and an iMac. I even picked up a copy of "iMac for
Dummies" to get a bit of a preview.
I read a few things online that there "might" be a 30" iMac in the works,
then I read such a thin enclosure couldn't handle the heat from the chips
needed to run a 30". Oh well, I live in hope. ;-)

it seems faster that anything before it. i don't see any real obvious
differences other than Quicktime.
i don't really understand anyone's commitment to microsoft OS at this
point. I haven't in a while, but it's just absurd to me today.
