At the factory, the dash wood is glued to a metal strip. The ends of the
metal strip are turned up and fit through small slots in the dash. They
are twisted with a pair of pliers on the inside of the dash to affix the
strip and the wood to the dash.

If you really want it reversable, you can remove the metal strip from the
dash (which probably takes removing the dash), glue the wood back onto it,
and then reinstall on the dash.
