Porsche started clear coating their metallics in 1969 and it was common to see 911s and 914s after a year or so with clearcoat turned white and cracking on the horizonatal surfaces which could be 75% of the total. I doubt that Porsche paid anything since most failures back then were always "customer abuse." BDTD.
