Is the special tool called an "assembly basket" absolutely required, or just nice to have? I'm referring to tool # 601 589 05 14 00, in the 124 service manual in procedures 07.1-8410 and -8014. It looks like it holds the timing chain to the outside after the timer is removed, and maybe it also holds the chain off of the timer teeth so that the timer is more easily removed/installed.
