Not hard at all and no mystery. Force may be unseen, but it's all around us all the time - atmospheric pressure. Collapse that tank very easily by pumping the contents out without venting the tank to allow atmosphere in the easy way; collapse it exactly like an automobile fuel tank with malfunctioning/blocked vent. You can let atmosphere into the space the easy way (by venting), or you can let it into the space the hard way (by collapsing the tank, unless, of course, the tank is built to withstand the higher pressure on the outside). Physics will win EVERY time; it never takes a day off and never sleeps.
