Well thats odd... Milk prices as far as I know are still set by that ridiculous system where what is set in Wisconsin goes for the whole country. Connecticut has some kind of deal where some tax goes back to dairy farmers forced (because of the crazy rule) to sell milk below the cost of production. I think its a good idea, otherwise Connecticut will become nothing but tract housing for people who work in NYC...
We drink organic milk and pay between $5 and $6 a gallon depending if we drink store brand or "The Organic Cow of Vermont". We really like the taste of organic milk although honestly as long as its really cold I don't really care... The Vermont whole milk though is absolutely sinful... I have an uncle who chides me because I generally drink 1% and was making fun of me for drinking organic milk. I got him some of the Vermont whole and he's a believer... -Curt Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2009 16:53:25 -0600 From: "Kaleb C. Here regular cheap brand milk is around $2.50 a gallon, thats up maybe 100% since I started college 15 years ago when gas was $1/gal and gold was $300/oz. > > Basically what I said before milk and cheese haven't risen crazy (I don't pay much attention to bread) its just that you were conditioned to prices that were way too low to begin with. > > -Curt > > Date: Thu, 31 Dec 2009 07:44:13 -0600 > From: "Kaleb C.
