Mercedes still does, in the G, M, GL, and R-Class. MB sez "MB Power Steering Fluid MB Part No. BQ 1 46 0001 or an approved Dexron III ATF" The difference being that you pay more for the lack of red dye in the MB stuff.
The rest of the current lineup requires Pentosin CHF 11S, which fully synthetic, expensive, and definitely not ATF.
